Terms of use

Last updated: April 29, 2026.

By accessing or using PhishPond (the "Service") at phishpond.io you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Educational purpose

PhishPond is provided for educational and research purposes only. Its analyses are heuristic and may produce false positives or false negatives. Do not treat any output as a definitive security verdict, and do not rely on it as the sole basis for any decision affecting people, money, or systems.

2. Acceptable use

  • Do not submit URLs you do not have a legitimate reason to analyse.
  • Do not use the Link Scout as a generic HTTP proxy. Automated, bulk, or scripted access is not permitted.
  • Do not upload .eml files, headers, or sender domains belonging to third parties unless you have a legitimate reason to analyse them (for example, you are the recipient, the named sender, or an authorised security responder). You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Email Inspector complies with applicable privacy laws and your organisation's policies.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, security filters, or abuse the Service to probe internal infrastructure of any third party.
  • Do not attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code, models, or heuristics of the Service except as permitted by an applicable open-source license.
  • Do not use the Service in violation of any applicable law, including export controls, sanctions, or anti-spam regulations.

3. Intellectual property

The PhishPond name, logo, design, original written content (including blog posts), and the codebase that powers the Service are © 2026 the PhishPond maintainers, all rights reserved. The source code is proprietary and is not made available under any open-source license. You may not copy, modify, distribute, host, or create derivative works of the Service or its underlying code without prior written permission. Quoted excerpts of phishing examples and screenshots are reproduced under fair use for commentary and education.

4. Advertising

Most pages of the Service display third-party advertisements served by Google AdSense. The maintainers do not endorse, control, or warrant the content, accuracy, or safety of any advertisement or the goods and services advertised. Clicking an ad takes you to a third-party site governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for details on ad cookies and how to opt out.

5. Affiliate links

The Service contains affiliate links — for example, the Hack The Box link in the navigation bar (clearly marked "affiliate link"). If you click such a link and subsequently make a purchase, the maintainers may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial content; recommendations are based on the maintainers' independent assessment.

6. Third-party links and content

The Service may link to third-party websites, including destinations resolved by the Link Scout. The maintainers do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those sites. Visit them at your own risk.

7. No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The maintainers do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE MAINTAINERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the maintainers from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third party arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these terms or applicable law.

10. Termination

The maintainers may suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice — in particular if abuse, automated access, or policy violations are detected.

11. Changes

These terms may change. We will update the Last updated date at the top of this page when they do. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the maintainers principally reside, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

13. Contact

For questions about these terms, email legal@phishpond.io. See the About page for other contact addresses.
